Base Oil
Base oil is a substance that is present in all the oils used in the industry and is transformed into a new oil by adding a series of additives and chemicals. Such as engine oil, hydraulic oil, etc. In fact, the most important component of lubricants in terms of volume is this oil, and in terms of weight, it makes up more than ninety-five percent of the formulation of a lubricant.
It is produced by refining crude oil. In this way, during the heating process, its light and heavy hydrocarbons are separated. Light hydrocarbons are used to make gasoline and other fuels, and heavier hydrocarbons are used to make bitumen and base oils. Features of the product have different characteristics, based on each of these characteristics, they can be used to lubricate different parts.
Some of these characteristics are: Very high lubrication ability, High resistance in different conditions, Improve and strengthen viscosity, Thermal stability, Preventing the formation of sediments and sludge-forming substances, Improved properties and properties at low temperatures.
Base oil Types
It is producing in some different grades which are used a lot in engine oils basis and as lubricant. Some types are Base oil 150, 500 and 650.
