Dioxolane

Dioxolane

Dioxolane is also called dioxalane or dioxalane. 1,3-dioxalane or dioxalane is an industrial solvent, a cyclic acetal, with a clear, colorless liquid appearance that has a mild odor similar to the odor of ethers. Acetals are solvents that are increasingly used due to compliance with environmental regulations. This product is soluble in water, ethanol alcohol, other ethers and acetone, and in general, high solubility is an important characteristic of this solvent.

However, at the same time, this chemical does not decompose in any way and maintains its structure in any case. The solvent 1,3-dioxalane can be a common alternative to MEK, NMP and methylene chloride. This substance has a low toxicity level, but when decomposed by heat, it emits irritating vapors that are heavier than air. This compound has a structure with a pentane ring acetal in which the carbon atoms at positions 1 and 3 are replaced by oxygen atoms, respectively.

Applications of Dioxolane 99.5%

1. Polymer and Resin Industry

Dioxolane is used as a monomer and solvent in the synthesis of polyacetals and other specialty polymers. Its high solvency power and low toxicity make it ideal for polymerization reactions and resin modifications.

2. Battery Electrolyte Solvent

In lithium-ion and lithium-metal batteries, Dioxolane 99.5% serves as a co-solvent in electrolyte formulations, improving ion conductivity and low-temperature performance.

3. Pharmaceutical and Laboratory Applications

Used as a reaction solvent in fine chemical and pharmaceutical synthesis due to its stability, low toxicity, and high purity. It also plays a role in the extraction and purification of active compounds.

4. Cleaning and Degreasing Agent

Because of its strong solvency and rapid evaporation rate, Dioxolane 99.5% is suitable for precision cleaning and metal surface degreasing, particularly in electronics and automotive industries.

5. Paints, Coatings, and Adhesives

Dioxolane acts as an effective co-solvent in paints, coatings, and adhesives, enhancing viscosity control and improving film formation.
