
Isopropyl Acetate
Isopropyl acetate has a specific odor similar to that of fruit and its colorless. It is by C5H10O2 formula is stable at normal temperatures and pressures and is incompatible with alkali metal hydroxides such as sodium hydroxide, nitric acid and strong oxidants. It is produced by a reaction between acetic acid and isopropanol.
Isopropyl Acetate General Applications
Isopropyl acetate normally using as solvent and extractor for making plastic, oil and fat extracts. It is used in pharma, agriculture, coatings, inks and some industries. It is a solvent for synthetic resins such as cellulose acetate butyrate, nitrocellulose, vinyl copolymers, polyester, polyamide, acrylic and alkyd, and in nitrocellulose, resin, plastic, paint, varnish, ink, organic synthesis and fragrances. It is soluble and used in food industry to produce flavors and aromas on fruits as an essential oil.
