Sodium Silicate, General specification:

Sodium silicate is the common name for compounds with the formula (Na2SiO2)nO.  A well-known member of this series is sodium meta-silicate, Na2SiO3. Also known as water-glass or liquid glass, Sodium Silicates are available in aqueous solution and in solid form. The pure compositions of sodium silicate is colorless or white, but commercial samples are often greenish or blue owing to the presence of iron-containing impurities.

Sodium Silicate, Applications:

Sodium Silicate is widely used in, ceramic and tile industries for glazing, producing detergents, industrial and general cleaners, adhesives, cement and concrete, paint and coating, molding and casting, refractory industries and drilling.
